If you have upgraded or changed heating systems, or added a wood stove - you really need to make sure that your chimney and venting systems are working properly and designed to handle the changes. If you have not used your fireplace in a long time that is a good reason to get a chimney inspection. When you don't use the fireplace much, that can give birds or squirrels a chance to clog your flues with their nests or for water penetration to damage the masonry.
