When To Clean & Check The Chimney

Annual inspections are recommended by the National Fire Protection Agency  for all chimney and heating venting systems, including wood burning, gas, wood stoves, pellet stoves and all types of furnace flues. During our inspections we will advise you if it needs cleaning or not.

This also gives us an opportunity to evaluate potential problems your system may have before costly repairs are required.

Sweeping your chimney will allow you to have the confidence that your system has been fully optimized for safer operation during the heating season. It does not take much accumulation of creosote glazing to provide the fuel for a potential chimney fire to start. The end of the season - Spring or Summer - is the ideal time to check the chimney. You will then be ready for whenever Winter decides to blow in and without the pressure of needing the service immediately. However, if you have put off or forgotten the early annual cleaning, don't wait until next year - chimney cleanings and inspections are done year round.
